Job

Wrestling with Pain and the Silence of God

The Book of Job is an ancient masterpiece of world literature that refuses to give easy answers to the problem of suffering. While its author is anonymous and its date of composition is debated—likely written between the 7th and 4th centuries BCE—it addresses the universal human experience of losing everything for no apparent reason.

For the skeptic, this book is refreshing because it validates the right to complain to God. For the believer, it is a bracing reminder that God’s wisdom operates on a scale far beyond human ideas of karma or 'what's fair.'

Rather than offering a theological explanation for why bad things happen, Job invites us into a raw, poetic protest against a world that feels broken and a God who often seems silent.
